The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (KPI-UMY) educates as well as equips students to master Islamic Communication Science and Islamic Counseling as a provision and means of Islamic da’wah in facing the flow of information and communication technology developments as well as responding to various dynamics and challenges that develop in the world. Public. Referring to the KPI-UMY tagline, namely Knowledgeable, Civilized, and Effective. Knowledgeable KPI study program strives to continue to develop learning and study of Islamic Communication Studies and Islamic Counseling in an adaptive manner as a means of da’wah in the midst of advances in digital information technology and the era of disruption by remaining a civilized person with values moral as the superior identity of KPI graduates who are efficient and capable. take part and work to implement knowledge widely in various aspects of life both on a national and international scale.
The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program is a learning platform for every student to seek their interests, talents and knowledge to be honed and developed into creative, innovative works that are adaptive to the times and can provide an abundance of blessings and benefits for themselves and the wider community. KPI UMY not only opened a regular program but also opened an international program, namely the International Program of Islamic Communication (IPICOM). This program is taught by graduate lecturers from various leading universities from abroad and within the country such as the Islamic University of Medina Saudi Arabia, Al-Azhar University Cairo Egypt, Macquarie University Australia, and LIPIA. This program excels in three aspects, namely the use of Arabic and English (bilingual language) in delivering lecture material. IPICOM is the only international program of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Studies in Indonesia that has collaborative partners with various international institutions.
On this website, all visitors can see the various activities and activities carried out by the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program not only in academic activities in lectures, but also practical activities carried out in the field in order to develop talents and interest in studies both in the field of communication and counseling. through various activities under the Department of Student Association (HMJ) including Islamic Communication Community (ICC) activities consisting of ICC Qur’an, ICC Journalism, ICC Music, ICC Radio, ICC Film, ICC Counselors, ICC Research and ICC Tadabur Alam. Various works and social activities, the results of creativity and achievements of the KPI-UMY academic community can be witnessed.

Founded in 2016, IPICOM’s vision is “To become a center for preparing integral and superior human resources in the field of Arabic-based Islamic da’wah and communication, mastery of advanced Islamic turats, and community da’wah practices in the Southeast Asian region by 2025”. Operated to produce graduates with the vision as above, IPICOM was born with the encouragement and support of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive and University Leaders, in collaboration with the Asia Moslem Charity Foundation. The international dimension that makes this program special is manifested in the use of Arabic and English in lectures and the management of student participation in international programs, such as Student Exchange, Summer School, and International Conference.

IPICOM has the following 3 main advantages:
1.) IPICOM is the only international program of Islamic Broadcasting Communication Study Program in Indonesia.
This is supported by the IPICOM A accreditation which shows the significance of the quality of the learning programs being run. As part of UMY, IPICOM also offers various complete and comfortable lecture facilities for students.
2.) IPICOM uses themodel International Class through the use of two languages of instruction, Arabic and English, in the learning process.
So, regarding the use of the international language of instruction, who will deliver the lectures, lecturers or students? That’s right, the responsibility for delivering lectures rests with the lecturer. Why are lecturers encouraged to use international languages in lectures? Of course, so that students get a double benefit, where they not only learn lecture material, but also get an academic environment that is more conducive to improving language competence. Full absence of the use of the international language depends on the learning conditions in the classroom.
3.) IPICOM has various strategic partners for international student programs.
To take advantage of this strategic partnership with international partners, IPICOM systematically facilitates students with various supporting programs, including TOEFL preparation classes andfile preparation workshops student exchange program.

1.) Young academics will study in a classroom environment that allows them to master Arabic and English, are directed to have a global mindset, and dare to take cross-cultural challenges. This means, like other students of knowledge, he is willing to make mistakes repeatedly, as much as possible, so that he is enthusiastic to read, ask questions, and discuss. 2.) Happiness is celebrating independence.
One of the principles in IPICOM lectures is that students are free to try new things, initiate, ask questions, and discuss. That’s where the role of the lecturer as a facilitator appears to direct students. So, making mistakes under the supervision of a learning facilitator in the learning process should be seen as a fun part of celebrating independence. Just like a baby learning to walk, falling is not a disgrace, but part of the process of growing towards success.
